Dolphin International School Takes Part In Mandela International Day

Meanwhile, it is undeniable that there are a lot of great names in the history of the world. For instance, if you are going to think of a non-violent revolution who have been very effective to create multitude of reforms, then most likely the name of Mahatma Gandhi would come into mind. Indeed, these kinds of people who have played a significant role in history needs to be recognized and their works are worthy of being commemorated.  On the other hand, Just like Mahatma Gandhi, another famous political personality who have contributed in making the world the best version it could possibly be was a South African who comes in the name of Nelson Mandela. He served as the president of the said state and his primary advocacy was the eradication of racism and the propagation of racial reconciliation. And because of his great legacy, the Mandela International Day has been celebrated by a lot of countries in the world, including India.

Programme of Activities

One of the schools who participated in the said celebration was the Dolphin International School. Being a celebration of Mandela’s one hundred first birthday as well, the event started at the Bluebells International School wherein participants from UNESCO and South Africa Embassy were present.

In order to commemorate the fruitful and inspiring life of the said South African political leader, students from Dolphin International School presented their rendition of a Kashmiri song during the opening rites.

A message from the secretary general of the United Nations was also read by the National Information Officer of the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan. There were also series of interactive sessions and exhibitions which entertained the attendees.
