Original CBD Of Bangkok Making A Comeback

So much has changed in Bangkok for the last few years. Hotels used to dominate the hospitality industry but now there is a rise in boutique serviced apartment Sukhumvit as well as AirBnB accommodations. More great news is that the original CBD of Bangkok is buzzing with new developments such as mixed-used establishments under construction while others are already scheduled to begin. These large, new establishments are expected to be completed between 2018 and 2025. Once they are ready to be launched, it is expected that the value of the current prime locations will soar even more.

These new buildings under constructions are concentrated in the areas of Silom roads as well as Sathon road along with Lumpini Park.

Sathon and Silom is the pair originally known as the modern central business district of Bangkok. Their popularity started in the 1980s and continued until the 1990s. Currently, office space in the area covered a land area of 1.7 million square meters which is used by local as well as multinational firms and the majority of which focuses on the finance deparment.

The best thing about the Sathon-Silom area is that it can be accessible by either MRT or BTS. The prime shopping area is only a few minutes away which are accessible through Siam station. The area is also near the best hospitals in the city, both private and public, and there are well-known hangouts wherein workers can drop by after work.

Sathon Road is going to see some changes after SupalaiPlc, a residential developer, purchased the site where the Australian embassy used to stand spanning seven rai while Sala Daeng is expecting two mixed-used establishments in the near future.

The residential properties in the area are popular to local Thais as well as expats coming from countries such as Japan, Korea and China. There are many Japanese businesses that can be found in Soi Thaniya which is accessible by the Sala Daeng station but the number of Japanese is still not as many as those living in the Sukhumvit area. The Japanese expats occupy high top condominiums as well as boutique serviced apartment Sukhumvit because of the convenience and location.
