There are many different types of cancer already discovered and the common denominator is that exercise helps in reducing the risk of a person from developing one. The most notable according to a personal trainer in Wynnum is the colorectal cancer because its malignancy is impacted by the level of physical activity of the person. Yet there is no concrete evidence as to how workouts play a role in preventing colon cancer.
Physical activity is known to speed up the waste movement inside the intestines but it does not answer the question as to how exercise protects a person from developing colon cancer. According to a recent study that was published in The Journal of Physiology, exercise creates change in the person’s bloodstream which could be the answer.
A total of 20 men were asked to participate for the study conducted by the University of Queensland. These are all colon cancer survivors. Due to menstruation affecting the results, women were not included in the study.
Half of the men were asked to do strenuous exercise three times every week. The training was done in a month and blood was drawn a few days after the program. The remaining half did the same exercise but they were only asked to do it once. Blood was drawn several times for the second batch – before working, immediately after and two hours later.
Each of the men’s blood was combined in a petri dish with tumour cells infected with colon cancer. They looked into the growth of cancer within 72 hours. Scientists found fewer cancer cells in dishes with blood that was taken immediately after the one-time exercise compared to dishes with blood taken two hours later. As for men who trained in a month,the decline was not seen. The end result is that the growth of cancer is slower for blood that was taken immediately after a workout.
It was concluded by the scientists that inflammation helped slowed down cancer growth after seeing inflammation molecules in blood drawn immediately after exercising. This further proves that a personal trainer in Wynnum is necessary for a person with cancer because exercise needs to be incorporated into their daily lives in order for the protection to continue.
